Breast Reduction

I now offer Reduced-Scar Breast Reduction.

Breast reduction is typically done using a large "anchor"-type incision which goes around the nipple, up and down on the breast, and across the entire bottom of the breast. The scar across the bottom of the breast is most noticeable in clothes -- it may be visible in the cleavage area with a low V-neck shirt or gown, or on the sides of the breasts in a bikini. The more fat you have in the area around your breasts -- the areas that tend to spill out around your bra straps -- the longer this incision will have to be. With my Reduced-Scar Breast Reduction, we can eliminate the long scar underneath the breast, leaving only the scar around the nipple and the vertical scar.

Reduced-Scar Breast Reduction has other advantages in addition to the reduced scar. The upper zone of the breast is preserved, improving long-term contour. The breast shape is sculpted into a higher, fuller breast, taking the stress off of your lower back. The breast tissue that remains is never disconnected from the nipple, which optimizes the possibility of breastfeeding in the future. Finally, the procedure is often combined with liposuction of the extra fat around the breast, especially under the armpit, the upper back and over the ribs. This helps the breast to continue to look full even with a smaller size, as the underlying anatomy of the body, especially collarbones and ribcage, are more visible.
