Male Breast ReductionGynecomastia, or breasts in a male, is common. Sometimes the breasts are related to an overall increase in body fat, but they can be present on thin men as well, and on one side or both. No amount of working out or weight loss can remove the excess breast tissue in true gynecomastia. Reduction of the breast can take place in different ways, depending on how severe the amount of excess skin is and how much sagging is present. If there is excess fat or fatty breast tissue, liposuction alone may reduce the chest to normal. If the breast tissue is dense, it may not be as easy to liposuction, and direct excision may be necessary. If there is excess or stretched-out skin, or the nipple position is significantly lower than normal, the excess skin must be excised as well. These incisions are hidden along natural creases and lines. |
